We are thrilled to have secured a 4YO mare by the renowned champion sire, SAVABEEL, from New Zealand this week. Her name is SUBTLE POWER and she’s a lightly raced mare with some very promising form and a nice pedigree to back it up. She is a big, strong mare standing at 16.2 hands high and is very well put together.
Subtle Power has had just seven career starts to date for 1 win, 2 seconds and a third and has never finished out of the top five. She broke her maiden in her second outing over 1600m, and has since recorded two solid seconds over 1400m and 1500m. You can watch her maiden win and hear more about her below.

One of her standout performances came on November 5th, 2024, when she ran second over 1400m. Notably, the winner of that race has since gone on to win twice, and the horse who finished third has also found success since, franking the form.

Her best performance of her career to date came on December 26th, 2024, when she finished a strong 5th, beaten just 1.4 lengths despite an average ride when caught very wide in a race worth $110,000. The winner of this race has gone on to win again and also place in stakes company, while the horse who finished second went on to win a Group 2 at its next start—highlighting the high quality of form in the race.

With her impressive form and consistent performances, we’re confident Subtle Power is the perfect horse to race through her grades here in Australia, with the potential to progress to stakes level. We believe she’ll excel over distances from a mile to 2000m, and possibly further. As a 4YO mare by Savabeel, we think she’s just entering her peak, and her best is yet to come. She will arrive around a 64 rater in Victoria allowing us to progress her through her grades.
She has passed her veterinary examination with no issues and is scheduled to arrive in Australia on Wednesday February 12th. Landed at Lindsay Park, Euroa, this filly is priced at 270,000 AUD or 13,500 AUD per 5%. This cost includes purchase price, vetting, bloodstock fees, transport to Lindsay Park, GST and insurance for 12 months.
